Nigeria issues travel advisory to Nigerians going to US, Europe

On Monday morning, the Nigerian issued a travel warning to its citizens visiting the United States and Europe.

At a press conference in Abuja, the Minister of Information, Alhaji , stated that the attack on Nigerians in London and the theft of their belongings, including passports, served as the impetus for the advisory.

The government has become aware that Nigerian visitors to the US and some European nations are having their personal belongings, particularly cash and passports, stolen at an alarmingly high rate, according to Mohammed.

“In order to prevent losing their possessions, we have decided to advise Nigerians travelling to Europe and the United States to exercise extra caution.

This is not your standard travel warning. Such issuance is within the purview of both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our embassies/high commissions.
