Airstrike kills many special hunters in Northern State

An unspecified number of Joint Security Task Force were killed by an in Galadima Kogo, Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State, causing chaos and confusion in the area.

As of the time this report was filed, the origin of the helicopter that conducted the airstrike remains unknown.

 

The number of casualties, including the special hunters are unknown as efforts are still being made to ascertain the damage.

The Special Hunters had a base of operations in Galadima Kogo.

The explosion occurred as the All Progressives Congress (APC) launched its senatorial campaign in Niger East in Suleja, where the majority of government officials were present.

 

Commissioner of Internal Security Emmanuel Umar and the Niger Police Command were unable to be reached for comment on the incident.
