The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken disciplinary action against Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, representing Ondo South Senatorial District, by suspending him from the party. This decision was made due to alleged anti-party activities and violation of the party’s constitution.

The suspension letter, signed by 16 members of the APC Executive Committee of Igbotako Ward 11 in Okitipupa Local Government Area, cited Senator Ibrahim’s decision to sue the party and his actions contrary to the party’s constitution. The letter stated that despite a meeting with the National Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, where aspirants were urged to cooperate with the incumbent Governor, Senator Ibrahim proceeded to sue the Governor and APC.
Furthermore, the letter accused Senator Ibrahim of engaging in anti-party activities by encouraging his supporters to join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NPP) and claiming he would receive the gubernatorial ticket from them.

The senator’s actions in the Federal High Court in Abuja and derogatory remarks about APC in various media outlets were also cited as evidence of his intent to disrupt the party.
The suspension, effective immediately, was made in accordance with Article 21, Section A of the APC Constitution. This development highlights the party’s commitment to discipline and adherence to its constitution.
