The President of the Court, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensan, dismissed the appeal because it lacked merit and APM lacked the legal standing to file the lawsuit.

With less than three weeks until the February 25 presidential election, the northern region has become the darling of presidential candidates, who continue to swarm to the North-West, North-East, and North-Central geopolitical zones that make up the northern region in search of bloc votes in the tens of millions.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State in southern Nigeria, and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, a native of Kaduna in the north, have also campaigned in the region.
