This Day Editor Shaka Momodu and The Morning Show co-host Rufai Oseni have both received requests from high-ranking APC campaign officials to leave their current positions in order to “stop the attacks or get a reprieve from a future presidency,” according to the Board of Editors of This Day Newspaper and Arise Television, which made the announcement on Monday.

The media organisation claimed in a joint statement to journalist with the title “Tinubu and ThisDay/Arise Media Group and the Attack on Free Speech” that they would cower to pressure from the ruling APC.

We also take note of the fact that two senior APC campaign officials separately asked us to remove Shaka Momodu, editor and columnist for THISDAY, and Rufai Oseni, co-host of The Morning Show on ARISE , from their current positions in order to stop the attacks or avoid a future Tinubu presidency.

Arise TV’s statement begins, in part, “We allow our editors the freedom to air their opinions without restraint and have created The Office of the Ombudsman to take any complaints and discipline any abuse of office by any of our staff members.”
