On Thursday in Abuja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, made the announcement during the biweekly news briefing on the operations of the armed forces.
Danmadami stated that the suspect was one of the three terrorists captured by troops on February 14 in the Damba community of Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
According to him, the operation resulted in the recovery of two motorcycles, mobile phones, $5,000, other currencies, and various other items.
According to him, state troops on combat patrol neutralized seven terrorists in Ungwan Birni, Kajuru Local Government Area.
He stated that 83 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 50 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and seven magazines were recovered from the terrorists.
Danmadami added that Operation Hadarin Daji troops had neutralized 23 terrorists, arrested nine, and rescued 23 kidnapped civilians during the period.
During the period under review, the air component reportedly conducted a series of air interdiction operations to decimate and deny terrorists freedom of action.
“Specifically, on February 13, an air interdiction operation was conducted based on an intelligence report that terrorists had gathered in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State for a wedding ceremony.
“Another air interdiction operation was conducted against terrorist targets in the Kankara and Batsari Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
“Feedback revealed that a number of terrorists were neutralized in both airstrikes,” a defense spokesman stated.
