, the presidential flag-bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 election, has stated that he deleted the tweet in which he condemned the murder of by religious extremists in a school in Sokoto State, Nigeria, for alleged blasphemy in May because it did not get the necessary approval from him before it was sent out.

The former vice-president has stated that he does not condone the killing, but the social media post did not comply with the required procedures.

“I judged it to be wrong” (murder). There is not a single place in the Islamic faith where it is written or taught that it is permissible to go and take the life of another person.

Atiku stated while he was speaking at the town hall meeting that was hosted by Channels TV on Sunday that “It has to be through due process.”

Recall that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar,the PDP Presidential Candidate had made a post on Deborah Samuel was stoned and then burnt to death by fellow students in Sokoto due to alleged blasphemy.
