Hamza Haruna, Top PDP Presidential Campaign Council Member Joins APC
Dr. Hamza Abubakar Haruna, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential campaign council, has left the PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a press release signed and sent to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital, by Comrade Jamilu Magaji, the press secretary to Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Haruna was welcomed.
Abubakar, who briefed journalists at the APC North West Zonal Office, along Isah Kaita in Kaduna, with other energetic and quick-witted young political groups from the PDP, said his decision to join the APC is to support the north west campaign coordinator to ensure the zone a resounding victory at the general elections in 2023.
He expressed confidence in Governor Bello Matawalle’s ability to unite the party and strengthen the APC in the North West geopolitical region due to his maturity as a politician.
The defector claimed that he returned to the APC because he believed the party would advance the nation.
He expressed hope that Governor Matawalle’s political approach would continue to stick in the minds of Zamfara residents and people in the North West as a whole.
He continued by saying that he defected alongside numerous political groups, the majority of whom were young people, from all seven States in the North West geopolitical zone.
Governor Matawalle, who had earlier hosted Abubakar and his entourage at his residence, praised the politicians for their decision to support the APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate.
He told the defectors that Tinubu had created strategic development plans that would build on the current reforms that President Muhammadu Buhari had already begun.
