Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) standard-bearer, has received the National Conscience Party’s (NCP) support as its preferred candidate for the February 2023 presidential elections.
The party claimed in Enugu over the weekend that Obi’s ability to lead Nigeria to the promised land was a factor in its decision to support him.
In a statement endorsing Obi, NCP National Chairman Dr. Tanko Yinusa pledged to mobilize all of his organization’s members and supporters to vote for the Labour Party candidate nationwide.
We both share the same philosophy and manifesto, according to Tanko, who also added that Peter Obi has everything it takes to win our party’s trust and confidence.
This is the reason why they have collapsed their structure for LP.
The endorsement comes a few weeks after the Nigeria Presidential Project (NPP) 2023, along with a number of other illustrious Nigerians including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, announced their support for the LP flag-bearer.
NCP was established in 1994, but it wasn’t allowed to run for office until it won a legal battle in 2003.
