As unrest spread throughout the Niger Community following the death of , young people in the area tore down a police station in a fit of rage.

After the assailants were unsuccessful in gaining access to Rev. Father Isaac Achi of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, they set fire to him and fled the scene.

On Tuesday, young people who were protesting disobeyed the curfew and marched through the streets while singing songs.

A crisis is currently unfolding in the community of Kafin Koro, which is located in the Paikoro Local Government Area of . On Sunday morning, a cleric was found burned to death in the community.

In the aftermath of the tragic event, Governor Sani Bello expressed his condolences to the Catholic Church and the local population.

After that, the governor put a curfew in place so that there wouldn’t be a complete breakdown in law and order.

On the other hand, protesting young people disobeyed the curfew and marched through the streets while singing songs on Tuesday.

According to reports, the young people engaged in violent conflict with security operatives who had been stationed in the area to enforce the curfew.

There have been unconfirmed reports that a police officer shot and killed one of the protesting youths, and that the protesters then set fire to the police station in response.

Journalists were informed by a Kaffin Koro local who requested anonymity that the incident had taken place and that arrests were being made as a result.

“The situation has unexpectedly escalated to a dangerous level . During our conversation, the police have been making a large number of arrests. Even those people who remained inside their homes during the search have been apprehended.
