Sheikh Abduljabbar Nasiru-Kabara, a well-known Islamic cleric in Kano, was brought before an Upper Sharia Court in Kano State on Thursday and given the sentence of death by hanging.
A member of the Qadirriya sect named Nasiru-Kabara was found guilty of committing blasphemy against the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, and was sentenced to death as a result of his actions.

The government of Kano State brought the charges against him in the first instance.
The attorney for the prosecution, Suraj Sa’eda, stated that the defendant was responsible for the crime on August 10, October 25, and December 20, 2019.
The presiding judge, Ibrahim Sarki Yola, stated while delivering the verdict on Thursday that he is “convinced that the prosecution counsel has done their part and proven their points beyond a reasonable doubt.”

In his statement before the court, Abduljabbar stated, “My lord, after I heard how you twisted all of my evidence and how you turned around all of my submissions upside down, you have assigned words to me that I have never uttered.”
“Deliver your judgement, and please understand that I am in no way pleading for leniency.
“I want all of my followers to know that I will die a hero, and I do not want you (the Judge Ibrahim Sarki Yola) to do me any favours or show me any leniency,” he said. “I want all of my followers to know that I will die a hero.”
