Meanwhile, Former Kano State governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje stated that he did not attend the inauguration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, also known as Abba Gida-Gida, out of concern for the possibility of violence between their supporters.

Ganduje stated in an interview with newsmen that he has no issues with the new state government.

“There are two aspects to handing over,” he stated. The first is the transfer of documents and information regarding the government’s operations, including completed projects, unfinished projects, and advice for the incoming administration.

“The inauguration is the second factor. If the outgoing and incoming governments are from different political parties, it is not always necessary to attend the inauguration due to the possibility of violence between supporters.”
