Femi Adebesin-Kuti, is Dead, Cause of Death Emerges
The distinguished and accomplished photojournalist passed away on January 5, 2023, following a brief illness.
Kuti was an approachable journalist who nurtured and handled his craft with zeal and professionalism. He was known as “Eshin” in the media and elsewhere.

Adeleye Ajayi, chairman of NUJ Lagos, issued a statement expressing sympathy to the deceased’s family and the Photojournalist Association of Nigeria.
According to the statement, “We were deeply shocked to learn of the passing of our dear brother, Femi Adebesin-Kuti, photo editor of the Guardian Newspapers, in the early hours of this morning.
“As we express our sympathy to the members of the Guardian Newspapers Chapel and the entire PJAN family, we pray that God, in his boundless mercy, will support and stand by the man’s immediate family and friends during this trying time.

At every assignment he covered, his distinctiveness and commitment to duty were unmatched because he would always go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that no moment that needed to be captured escaped his lenses.
Kuti was a well-known photojournalist who studied under the best and covered a variety of sporting events in Nigeria, Africa, and around the world, most notably the FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
According to Islamic tradition, Kuti, who was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, would be buried today.
