Unknown Gunmen have razed down police headquarters in Anambra
The Divisional Police Headquarters in Anambra State’s Ihiala Local Government Area was set on fire by some unnamed assailants.
The incident, which took place early on Wednesday, has raised tension and created unrest in the Ihiala community.

The attackers attacked the police station in large numbers, opened fire on the building after shooting erratically and frightening away the on-duty police officers.
As of the time this report was submitted, the reason for the development was unknown, and it was unclear if the criminals fled with police ammunition.
Although the number of fatalities has not yet been determined, it is known that the fire destroyed the building, the belongings inside, and the government records.
Gunmen burn police headquarters in Anambra
In a statement, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, the state police’s public relations officer, confirmed the incident.

Ikenga stated, “Our operatives engaged some gunmen who attacked the Ihiala police divisional headquarters in the early hours of this morning, December 28, 2022, and recovered one abandoned Ak47 rifle.
Due to the police officers’ superior firepower, the gunmen were able to flee the scene; no casualties were reported.
Sadly, the explosives that the shooters threw inside the police station building had already started a fire and damaged the structure.
Operation is still going on there; more information will be released.
