Breaking: IGP served warrant to arrest Popular PDP Governorship Candidate

The inspector general of police has been served with the arrest warrant issued against , governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom state.

The IGP is expected to execute the arrest.

On December 23, a chief magistrate court in Wuse zone 6, federal capital territory (FCT), issued an arrest warrant for Pastor Umo Eno.

The campaign committee for Eno has denied knowledge of the lawsuit.

In the arrest warrant, the chief magistrate stated, “You are hereby ordered to arrest the aforementioned pastor Umo Bassey Eno and bring him before me.”

The warrant was served on the IGP by the police commissioner (legal).

The acknowledgement copy viewed by TheCable indicates that it was postmarked “received” on January 9.

Eno, the preferred candidate of Akwa Ibom governor Udom Emmanuel, won the party’s primary in May 2022.

He received 993 votes out of a total of 1,018 votes cast by delegates in the election.Pastor Umo Eno

Onofiok Luke, a member of the house of representatives who received two votes, and Bassey Albert, a member of the senate who received one vote, were defeated.
