Popular PDP Lawmaker has Dumped his Party.
Honourable Tonye Timi Ph.D, a former university lecturer and a development expert who is the legislature, representing Patani State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dumped the party.
ejesgist.ng gathered that the PDP starlwart sent in his resignation to the PDP ward chairman in Patani local government area of Delta state on the 10th of January, 2023.

Tonye Timi in his letter of resignation signed by himself, stated a number of reasons for his resignation stating that his resignation is borne out of deep introspection, sincerity of purpose and conviction of its rightness for the greater purpose and common good of all Deltans.
Tonye Timi added in his letter;

“in resigning it is my humble prayers that the lord preserves the course and affairs in the state viz,
1)The current situation whereby intellectuals technocrats professionals – experienced and knowledgeable people etc are deliberately precluded from participating in government;
2) The situation where illiterates have become the closet philosophers, espousing principles torn from the thin air and holding to ransom, the pillars of government and the public administration;

3) A situation whereby impunity, parochialism etc so weaponized in the public service of Delta state.
