Buhari appoints first Rector for Orogun Federal Polytechnic
Duke Okoro Biography highlighted.
President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Dr. Duke Okoro as the first Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, on Monday.
The Federal Polytechnic, Orogun, was proposed by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, and approved by the National Assembly.

President Buhari, commander of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subsequently assented to the law.
The President carefully considered and approved Okoro’s appointment as the institution’s inaugural rector.
Biography of Duke Okoro
Okoro was the Federal University of Petroleum Resources’ Director of International Development in Effurun, Delta State.
In 2004, he earned a doctorate in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the esteemed University of Benin. A fellow of the Chemical Society of Nigeria, the Nigerian Environmental Society, the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria, and the Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (FIMC).

The newly appointed rector is a Member, amongst others, of the Institute of Public Analyst of Nigeria (MIPAN), the Chemical Profession of Alberta, Canada (PChem), and the Environmental Careers Organization of Canada (EP).
Meanwhile, Deltans have responded to the opening of the Federal Polytechnic, Orogun and President Buhari’s appointment of Dr. Duke Okoro as Rector.
In addition, they praised the Vice President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, for bringing the Federal Polytechnic to Delta State.
