Don’t meddle in Nigeria’s election – warns foreign nations

President has issued a warning to foreign countries to avoid interfering in Nigeria’s election as it approaches.

While receiving letters of credence from the ambassadors of Sweden, Switzerland, the Republic of Ireland, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Republic of Senegal, and the Republic of South Sudan on Thursday in Abuja, Buhari issued this warning.

Buhari urged ambassadors to follow good diplomatic practice and carry out their responsibilities professionally, according to a statement by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.

President Buhari reiterated his appeal to foreign government representatives not to meddle in Nigeria’s internal affairs as Nigerians get ready to elect a new government in general elections on February 25, 2023.

Meanwhile, a former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has debunked reports which stated that he indicted the united kingdom.

Reports making rounds claimed that the the former president wrote a letter to the united kingdom asking then to stay away from Nigeria’s election.

Obasanjo has however stated through his media aide that he did not and has not written such a letter let alone send it off, calling such reports fake and adviced the general public not to believe it.
