CBN Does Not Take Part In Politics – Emefiele Denies Plotting Against Tinubu
Godwin Emefiele, the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has denied rumours that he is plotting against president-elect Bola Tinubu.
The article, according to Emefiele, is “false and malicious.”

Isa Abdulmumin, CBN’s acting director of corporate communications, stated on Monday that Emefiele “does not participate in politics”
“The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been made aware of a report alleging that Governor Godwin Emefiele has launched a “new plot against the president-elect.”
“According to the aforementioned report, the Governor has made a sum of money available to a political candidate ahead of the March 18, 2023 election for governor,” Abdulmumin said.

“We wish to inform the public that this story is completely false and malicious, as the Governor does not know Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour and has never met or spoken with him in person or by proxy.
“We wish to reiterate that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not participate in politics, and we encourage anyone with contradictory information to prove the Governor wrong to provide such evidence.
“Therefore, the Governor and team at the CBN should be allowed to focus on their assigned duties with the goal of achieving the Bank’s statutory mandates.”
