Delta govt sacks 6 political appointees
The Okowa led administration of Delta State has removed six political appointees from their positions within the state government.
In a letter signed by state government secretary Patrick Ukah and seen by Ejes Gist News Nigeria, he stated that the fired appointees no longer share the state government’s philosophy and vision.

He added that their recent actions were inconsistent with acceptable behaviour in the public service.

Meanwhile, Pete Edochie, a veteran Nollywood actor, has broken his silence about the death of his grandson.
Recall that social media was agitated following reports that Yul Edochie had lost his first son, Kambilichukwu, 16 years old.

On Wednesday, the boy was reportedly rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness. The son of Yul suffered a seizure while playing football and was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital. Doctors’ attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful, the report stated.
Pete Edochie confirmed the tragic news to Ejes Gist News Nigeria by stating that his son Yul called him on March 29 to inform him that Kambilichukwu had suffered a seizure after falling while playing football with his classmates.
According to him, the deceased was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where he passed away several hours later.
The legendary actor stated that his family began praying for the child as soon as Yul informed him of the tragic event via telephone. In Edochie’s words:
“Kambilinachukwu is an exceptionally shy, brilliant, and talented child. He is not someone you can easily manipulate. He never becomes angry, regardless of the circumstances.

He may alter his demeanour, but in so many ways he was a truly unique individual.
“He was so proficient. I always tell my son that I dislike people who excel in everything they do to this extent. Experience has taught me that such individuals are short-lived.”
Edochie remarked that it was unfortunate that his grandson passed away after displaying such promise.
Since the incident, both Yul and his first wife, May, have understandably remained silent.
