In their respective declarations, the vice-governorship candidate and senatorial candidate for Zamfara Central, speaking on behalf of other defectors, stated that they had renounced their respective ambitions to support the APC due to the peace and stability brought about by the reconciliation between former governor Abdulaziz Yari and current governor Bello Muhammad Matawalla.

They promised to mobilise all of their supporters during the election and to vote for all APC candidates.
