: No deal with any presidential candidate – Wike 

The G5 disgruntled governors of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), according to Governor of Rivers State, have not reached an agreement with any presidential candidate ahead of the general elections in 2023.

This was said by Wike on Friday in Port Harcourt at the beginning of the Eneka-Igbo Etche Road construction.

“We have a deal with so and so,” Wike allegedly stated in an interview with the Journalists, the Rivers Governor claimed.

The governor continued, “I can not make any decisions without consulting with you first.

However, Wike pleaded with the G5’s “detractors” to leave, saying, “I just want to enjoy myself and my family.”

The governor of Rivers argued that since he will not be running for office in 2023, rumours should not be made about him.

Atiku has been accused by Wike of breaking his promise to keep the PDP presidential candidate and the party chairman from the same region apart by meeting with governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in secret (North).

Wike is a member of the G5 along with the governors of Oyo, Benue, , and Enugu, (Abia).

Remember that the G5 and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar have been at odds since the fallout from the party’s primary?

The G5 governors insist that the northerner and PDP National Chairman Iyorchia Ayu must step down, despite the fact that Wike, who lost to Atiku, feels the process was unfair. Since the crisis, there have been rumours that the organisation has endorsed a presidential candidate.
