In a statement released recently by the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), it was announced that Dr Timothy Olawale, its Director-General, had passed away.

Dr. Timothy Olawale is the Director-General of the National Education and Cultural Association. The majority of his career has been spent in industrial relations and strategic human resource management. As a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, he has earned a high level of respect in the industry.

Dr. Timothy Olawale’s Professional Life
NECA’s substantive Director-General, Dr. Olawale, was confirmed in January 2019 after serving for six months in an acting capacity. Dr. Olawale had previously served as the commission’s acting Director-General during that time.
Mr Olawale, a psychology graduate from the University of Ibadan, had 29 years of experience in industrial relations and strategic human resource management. He was also a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, which is the professional association for management consultants. He also had a great deal of respect in the industry.

The Director General of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), an organisation he joined in April 2011, was formerly the Director in charge of Membership Services, where he was instrumental in the Association’s growth by increasing its membership base.
Mr Olawale was a passionate advocate for the welfare of Nigerian workers and entrepreneurs while he was alive, and he was always willing to speak out on issues affecting the workplace and how the environment can be improved to the benefit of all stakeholders.
He took over for Segun Oshinowo, who retired from the association in December 2018 after serving the organisation for 19 years.

His wife, children, and other relatives are left to mourn his passing.
Dr. Timothy Olawale is a Nigerian physician. The cause of death is unknown.
Mr Olawale was said to have lost his breadth after collapsing during a meeting he attended in Abuja on Friday, according to reports.
