EFCC arrests former APC governor for N4 billion fraud and money laundering

The has arrested a former APC governor for fraud and money laundering involving N4 billion.

 

Dr. , a former governor of Ekiti, has been arrested and questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding alleged money laundering and misappropriation of N4 billion.

 

According to a source close to the anti-graft organisation, Fayemi was taken to the EFCC facility on Thursday at around 10 a.m. and was interrogated by its agents.

According to the source, the former governor was being questioned about an alleged fraud at the zonal command of the anti-graft agency in Kwara, which is located on Oko Close, Off Station Road, Ilorin.

The source claims that the EFCC is questioning the former governor regarding claims of money laundering and the theft of N4 billion.

According to reports, the investigation relates to how funds were handled while he served as governor of Ekiti.
