State Project Coordinator Job vacancies at Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in collaboration with the IFAD assisted Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprise – Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project Edo State Project Coordinating Office (SPCO), is seeking applications from qualified candidates for the position of State Project Coordinator for Edo State.
Introduction / Background
The Federal Government of Nigeria, with support from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and additional financing from the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), is launching the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises Project in the Niger Delta region. The LIFE-ND Project aims to enhance income, food security, and job creation for youths and women through sustainable agribusiness development.
To facilitate the project’s implementation in Edo State, applications are invited from suitably qualified and competent individuals to fill the role of Edo State Project Coordinator.
Main Responsibilities:
The State Project Coordinator will oversee the coordination and implementation of the project in Edo State. Key responsibilities include:
- Heading the Secretariat of the State Project Steering Committee.
- Promoting teamwork among project officers for effective implementation.
- Conducting regular meetings with the SPCO staff.
- Ensuring timely delivery of quality reports to the LIFE-ND Coordination Office.
- Supervising procurement processes in compliance with IFAD and FGN guidelines.
- Managing and motivating project staff to achieve consistent quality results.
Federal Ministry of Agriculture Recruitment: Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or higher-level University Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in agriculture or agribusiness management within a development project.
- Strong writing skills and computer literacy.
Reporting and Location:
The position will be based in Benin and Edo State SPCO, with the State Project Coordinator reporting directly to the National Project Coordinator on both technical and administrative matters.
Federal Ministry of Agriculture Recruitment for State Project Coordinator Position Duration:
The assignment will be on a 2-year renewable contract, following a successful completion of a 1-year probation period. Subsequent contract renewals will be based on satisfactory performance reviews.
