Suspected terrorists have killed four Nigerian soldiers in an ambush in Sokoto.
The attack was done by suspected terrorists who attacked the convoy of the Nigerian Army personnel at Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing four of them.
According to locals, the soldiers were traveling in a military vehicle when they were ambushed. The ambush instantly killed four of the soldiers present in the vehicle and seriously injured seven others. All the injured soldiers are reportedly undergoing treatment in an unknown hospital.

Apart from the death toll, the attackers set two military operation vehicles on fire, further escalating the situation.
Efforts to confirm the incident with security agencies have so far failed, as at the time of filing this report neither the Nigeria Police Force nor Army authorities in Sokoto had issued any official statement on the attack.
The incident simply underlines the continuous security challenges facing Sokoto State and a large region where terrorist activities have been raking in heavy tolls on both military personnel and civilians.
