PDP raises concern as Clark, Ortom endorse Obi
The endorsement of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, by Chief Edwin Clark, a senior statesman and the president of the Pan Niger Delta Forum, on Tuesday, according to the People’s Democratic Party, has further demonstrated the need for the party to make amends with the five disgruntled governors.
In response to Clark’s endorsement, the party’s deputy national publicity secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said this in an interview with Newsmen on Tuesday.

When comparing His Excellency Peter Obi to all other candidates put forth by other political parties, Clark said, “I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that our country Nigeria has a great opportunity to elect a phenomenal team, the candidate of the Labour Party, and his Deputy, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmad, as President and Vice President respectively.
“I hereby officially declare that on February 25, 2023, the date of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s election, I will cast my personal vote for Peter Obi and his vice-presidential candidate.”
Abdullahi, the PDP’s deputy national publicity secretary, stated that the party needed to make amends with the unhappy governors.
The first step is to rekindle our relationship with the five governors, he said, adding that we must be able to put our house in order in the coming days. I will be the happiest person in the world if it goes in our favor.
“If Peter Obi is getting this endorsement from a former president who has been the most celebrated and relevant former president alive, and is confirmed by another leader from the South-South who is reportedly the president of the South-South Forum, then it is going to confirm that Peter Obi might be the surprise that this country is waiting to receive because clearly, it is looking like we must go to the second ballot and that second ballot, and that second balloting is going to be for Peter Obi,”
“Chief Edwin Clark’s support for Peter Obi is proof of the significant impact that Obi is having with his presidential campaign. It is evidence that we could be approaching some sort of political Armageddon.
