AAC suspends 4 governorship candidates ahead of poll
In four different state chapters, the African Action Congress (AAC) has suspended four of its governorship candidates.
The four governorship candidates were suspended for violating the party constitution.
Iboro Otu in Akwa Ibom, Ray Kene in Enugu, David Joel Charima in Taraba, and Ahmed Aliyu in Kwara state are the candidates who are impacted.
The party’s Akwa Ibom state chapter lamented Otu’s failure to respond to a question from the party in a statement.
The party’s governorship candidate was then abruptly suspended by the state executive committee of the party.
Meanwhile, the head of the AAC in Kwara, Usman Jamiu, revealed in a statement that Aliyu had declined to answer the question posed to him and that the party had continued tolerating him even after the deadline for his response had passed.
The party’s Kwara state executive committee then cited sections of the party’s constitution that called for the expulsion of the governorship candidate, citing Section 81, Subsection 3 and Section 81, Sub-section 2 (a).
The declaration says, in part:
You are advised to stop all future transactions on the Party’s behalf because the African Action Congress will not be held responsible for any violations or breaches.
