Rapper and filmmaker JJC Skillz has given an explanation for the breakdown of his six-year union with Funke Akindele-Bello.
On Wednesday, the rapper announced it in an Instagram post.
He asserted that the union’s demise resulted from numerous attempts to fix problems that were ultimately unsuccessful.
“I tried my best to fix things, but I believe it is beyond repair now,” he said.

Dear Family and Friends I must inform you that Funke and I have broken up. We did a lot of things together and had two lovely children while it lasted. We have had a very difficult couple of years.
Even though I know I did my best to make things right, I think they are now past saving. I moved out of the house three months ago at Funke’s request, and outside of AMVCA, I haven’t been able to persuade Funke to have a civil conversation about the future of our relationship.
I’m announcing this so that everyone knows that we are both living separate lives.
The custody of our children, which is of utmost importance, as well as the need to separate business interests are still issues that need to be resolved, but I am confident that they will be resolved in some way.
Meanwhile, Samuel Jemitalo, an award-winning Nollywood film maker and content creator, issued warnings to men not to marry successful women as reactions to Abdul Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, and his actress wife, Funke Akundele, continue.

He stated in his Instagram bio that “Men, never marry a woman that has made it… she will never respect you.”
