G-5 Governor Ortom Heads To Court, Says Presidential, NASS Elections Rigged In Benue

of Benue State has revealed that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has concluded plans to challenge the outcome of the Benue North West senatorial election.

Recall that the governor lost the February 25 poll to Titus Zam of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

 

 

While Ortom polled 106,882 votes, Zam had 143,151 votes, while Mark Gbillah, the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, garnered 51,950 votes.

Speaking on the matter while commission­ing about twelve projects across Makurdi, Ortom said the election was clinically and electronically rigged.

He, however, said it is not over yet, expressing optimism that the victory of Zam would be upturned in court.

 

 

 

According to him, “The election was rigged clinically, electronically, scientifically and otherwise.

“However, I am not angry at anyone who may not have vot­ed for me in the election. But I want to let you know that it is not over yet.

 

 

 

 

“My party, the Peoples Dem­ocratic Party (PDP) is ready to challenge the outcome of the elections at the tribunal.

 

 

 

“My party has already con­tacted her lawyers and they are looking at the results with a view to approaching the tribu­nal, and I am confident that the party will recover all her stolen mandates.
