Gunmen Arrested At Residence Of APC Senator, Mohammed Sani Musa

At Mohammed Sani Musa’s state residence in Minna, Niger, where he represents the Niger East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, security personnel have captured a few armed men.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator, who was in the state for the inauguration and presentation of the staff of office to Alhaji Ahmed Garba Gunna, the Emir of Kagara, was reported to have left the state and returned to Abuja after the ceremony.


Approximately seven suspects, according to locals interviewed by newsmen, must have followed the senator from Abuja after learning that he was in the state to attend the coronation ceremony.

Armed intruders forced their way inside the home, but they were repelled by security guards on the scene and a reinforcement team from Tudun-Wada police station.

“The Senator travelled to Abuja after attending the inauguration and presentation of the office staff to Alhaji Ahmed Garba Gunna, the Emir of Kagara. But the assailants arrived at the house.


But when they were repelled and captured by heavily armed security personnel, their luck ran out. They are currently being held in custody, according to a close ally of the senator.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the public relations officer for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the incident when contacted.

He claimed that four suspects had been detained on suspicion of impersonation and criminal conspiracy, while others fled when they saw the police response team.

“The fact of the incident is that on 03/12/2022 at around 1900 hours, based on a distress call received, some strange suspicious persons entered the home of a Senator in Tudun-Wada, driving a Toyota Sienna with the registration number FKJ 814 GP. Tactical teams were dispatched to the scene right away by the Command. He spoke.

Oladele Peter Akano, 49, of Kuruduma, Abuja, Abdul Salisu, 31, of Gwagwalada, Abuja, Felix Clarkson, 47, of Karo, Abuja, and Babagana Alhaji, 39, of Chideri-Polo, Maiduguri were the names he provided for the four suspects.

According to Abiodun, the suspects claimed during interrogation that they were recruited by one Sherrif, who is currently at large and is a rumoured whistleblower who reportedly claimed to work with an Abuja-based security agency.

“Akano, a teacher at a private school in Abuja, was invited by Sherrif. Additionally, he invited Salisu, a plumber from Gwagwalada who provided a hammer and chisel for breaking into houses, Clarkson, an instructor at the private institute “INSMO” Abuja, Babagana Alhaji, and five other people who are still at large.

“Suspects confessed further that Sherrif stated there are foreign currency and arms kept in the residence of the Politician, hence they travelled from Abuja to Minna for a purported execution of search without any warrant,”

Abiodun claimed that upon arriving at the home, the security guards assigned to the property suspected the fake team and called for reinforcements, at which point police officers from the Tudun-Wada Police Division and the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping team were dispatched to the scene.


He claimed that when the Police reinforcement teams arrived, a Toyota Sienna vehicle was found, and the other suspects fled.

To conduct an investigation, the suspects have been brought to SCID Minna.
