Kaduna Traditional Ruler Kidnap: Chief Joshua Ahmadu, the district head of Chawai in Kauru Local Government in Kaduna State, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The Chawai Development Association’s President, Mr. Abel Adamu, confirmed Ahmadu’s kidnapping on Wednesday.

The traditional leader was taken hostage Tuesday night “by gunmen who invaded his house at Zambina,” according to Adamu in a statement signed by Mr. Raphael Joshua, Public Relations Officer of CDA.
Adamu was quoted as saying, “It was reported that the kidnappers stormed the house of the traditional ruler in their numbers around 9:30 p.m. and took him away.”
The CDA President was further quoted as expressing shock at the circumstance and assuring locals that CDA was making every effort to ensure the victim’s safe release.
The heads of security personnel assigned to special duty in the chiefdom and the pertinent authorities have already been notified and are moving quickly to save the traditional leader.

In order to prevent such breaches, the statement urged the chiefdom’s youth to always take communal security seriously.

“To make sure the land is secure, we must be proactive.
He lamented that youths, who should be the force uniting all communities to ensure security, were not prepared to work alongside security personnel to secure the land at this crucial moment.
Bandits and kidnappers have recently targeted the Tsam Chiefdom frequently and attacked it.
While significant sums of money were also spent to free victims who had been kidnapped, some of the incidents resulted in the loss of life.
The head of the CDA pleaded with the government to order security organizations to make sure the district head was saved and released “unconditionally.”
