Happy April Fool’s Day 2023: Just like every year, April Fool’s Day will be celebrated on April 1, which is a Friday. It’s an annual tradition in which people play practical jokes on each other just to have a good laugh.

While it isn’t technically a holiday, people plan ahead of time how they will prank their friends and family.

According to historians, the day began to be commemorated after Pope Gregory XIII established the Gregorian calendar in 1952 and decreed that the new calendar would begin on January 1st. Previously, the New Year was observed at the end of March.

People are said to have started celebrating April Fool’s Day on April 1st, when the Julian calendar was replaced by the Gregorian calendar.

While many people refused to accept the change and continued to use the Julian calendar, France was the first country to accept and adopt the new calendar.
