Tina Turner, the indefatigable vocalist and captivating stage performer, known for her electrifying partnership with husband Ike Turner in the 1960s and ’70s, as well as her triumphant solo career in later years, has passed away at the age of 83.

 

Her manager confirmed that Turner died on Tuesday at her residence in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland, following a prolonged illness. A decade ago, she had become a Swiss citizen, reflecting her deep connection to the country where she spent her final years.
