In response to the request, the State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Olusegun Agbaje, said that the commission cares more about how motor parks are run in Lagos state than about MC Oluomo in order to do its election work well.

At a meeting of the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security with representatives of security agencies, including the military, at the Commission’s secretariat in Lagos on Tuesday, he said that the Commission will not work with the disbanded NURTW and RTEAN because it would be against the law.

He said, “MC Oluomo is not a problem for the commission. We are worried about how motor park management works in Lagos.

“For the past two years, the government of Lagos State has made it illegal for the NURTW and RTEAN to work in the state. They were having trouble, so the state government ordered them to stop.

“So, Lagos State Park and Garages and the National Association of Road Transport Owners are all that are left” (NARTO).

“And we’re already working with NARTO, and it’s clear that it can’t meet the commission’s 40 percent needs for this election.”

He also said, “We’re not talking to MC Oluomo; we’re talking to park managers.” They are private people who own cars that we will use for the elections.”
