Just few weeks to the February 25 and March 11 elections in Nigeria, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) declared on Thursday that it had not told residents in the Southeast to sit at home on election days.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the outlawed group declared that it would not issue any orders for people to sit at home during the 2023 general election.

“We have remained steadfast in our refusal to take part in the shambolic political election process known as the Nigerian elections, which are scheduled to take place in February 2023.

“The release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the upcoming Biafra referendum, which will give Biafrans the option of choosing their political future either inside or outside of Nigeria, are the subjects of our interest and focus.
