Jonathan Reacts To APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket says “Who will Represent the Nation when Both go for Jummah Prayers?”

Goodluck Jonathan, a former president of Nigeria, expressed disapproval of the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress.

Jonathan claimed that the ruling party’s same-faith ticket would result in gaps in the representation of Nigeria’s religious diversity.

He added that only states across the nation are permitted to use the same-faith ticket.


This was said by Jonathan in an interview that was included in the book “My Time As Chaplain In Aso Rock,” which was released to the general public on Tuesday.

The accounts of Obioma Onwuzurumba, the chaplain of the Aso Rock Villa Chapel during the Jonathan administration, are included in the book written by Nathaniel Bivan.

When I assumed my position as vice president, the custom was that the vice president would be a Muslim and vice versa if the president was a Christian. In Nigeria, there are religious celebrations as well as the National Day, which will feature Christian and Jummah prayers.


Because Nigerians are a religious people, I worry about the Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket issues.

Yes, the state can be ruled by Muslim-Muslims or Christian-Christians. But whenever we come to the national holidays that we observe, I always wonder “Who will represent this other bloc?”
