Labour Party wins first National Assembly seat
Ginger Onwusibe of the Labour Party has been declared the representative-elect for Isialangwa North and South Federal constituency in Abia State by the Independent Electoral Commission.
Ginger, a former Council Chairman, defeated the preferred candidate of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and his former Chief of Staff, Professor Anthony Agbazuere.

Similarly, the constituency is home to the current Governor Ikpeazu, who is one of the G5-governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Ginger received 20,411 valid votes to defeat his PDP opponent, who received 13,508 votes, according to INEC.

Ginger defeated Professor Agbazuere, the PDP candidate, even in his Isialangwa South LGA.
Members of the Labour Party are currently celebrating at the collation center.
