A woman named Professor Gertrude Njar, who is currently serving as a Commissioner of Women’s Affairs in the state of Cross River, was taken captive.

It was learned that she disappeared at approximately 9:25 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, in the town of Mbukpa, which is located in the Calabar South Local Government Area of the state.
It is said that agents working for security located her shoes near the creeks in the Calabar South neighborhood.
Also taken hostage is Mr. Kenneth Abang, who is from the Boki Local Government Area.

Kenneth and his relative Eunice were kidnapped a few days ago while they were traveling to Boki Local Government Area in preparation for Kenneth’s late father’s burial, which was scheduled to take place on February 3rd and 4th in Okundi community.
