The Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council stated that thugs attacked , the ’s (LP) presidential candidate, on January 23 in Katsina state.

On January 23, according to the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Peter Obi was attacked by thugs in Katsina state.

If elected president, he made a promise to the residents of the northern state that he would reduce insecurity.

The attack on Obi and his campaign team is condemnable, according to a statement issued on Tuesday, January 24, by Diran Onifade, Head of Media for the Obi/Datti Presidential Campaign Council.

The LP flagbearer, according to Onifade, had a town hall meeting with women before holding a very successful rally at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium.

To God’s glory, Mr. Obi and the other car occupants escaped unharmed. Another group of thugs then threw stones at vehicles outside the stadium, including one belonging to our official stage crew, Onifade said.

Campaign team reveals “suspects” in the attack on Obi

The campaign team, according to Onifade, has suspicions that the attacks may have been planned out at the direction of desperate politicians who had believed that Obi could not compete with their electoral strength in the northwest but were now shocked by the “Obidient movement’s” display of force in the area.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, he urged security agencies to look into the attacks.
