Latest News Now: PDP candidate defeats APC to win House of Assembly seat in Cross River
Chief Pius Ashakia, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been declared winner of the hotly contested Obanliku State Constituency election by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Chief Ashakia of the Peoples Democratic Party scored a total of 10,312 votes against his closest challenger, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Sunday Achunekang, who got 10,184 votes.
Ashakia, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared winner and is returned elected by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
