Yobe LG Chair, Lawan Gana dies less than 24 hours to swearing-in

On Thursday, the newly appointed Chairman of the Caretaker Management Committee of Karasuwa Local Government Area in the state of Yobe, the Honourable Lawan Gana, passed away.

Gana reportedly passed away at the Federal Medical Centre in Nguru after a brief illness.

On Friday, Governor Mai Mala Buni will administer oaths of office to the 17 LG Chairmen Caretaker Management Committees.

Between 2023 and 2007, the deceased was elected to represent Karasuwa local government in the Yobe State House of Assembly on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

He was also a PDP candidate for deputy governor in 2015, but defected to the APC in 2019.
