Those elected Senators on Labour Party’s platform won’t defect — Abure
Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party, stated on Tuesday that none of the newly elected members of the National Assembly would defect to other parties.
The chairman stated in Abuja, following a meeting with newly-elected members of the National Assembly, that the party would contribute to the nation’s democracy.
“The newly elected federal legislators are men of honour, and none will defect in the tenth National Assembly,” he declared.
The chairman of the Labour Party stated that the party won eight Senate seats and thirty-four seats in the lower chamber.
“It must be noted that all those elected on the Labour Party platform are persons of impeccable character, and I have no doubt they were aware of the basis for their election.
“Even if there are infiltrations, our members can withstand them,” he explained.
Meanwhile the Abia State Returning Electoral Officer, for the Guber elections, Prof. Nnenna Oti, has received a heroic welcome for students and staffs of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO).
Recall that the Abia REC who is the vice Chancellor of FUTO stated that the mandate of the people would be upheld and eventually declared Alex Otti of the Labour party as the winner of the Abia gubernatorial election.
