Fire razes 3 ATMs in Kano


On Tuesday, three Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) of Zenith Bank were destroyed by fire on Tafawa Balewa road in the Nasarawa Local Government area of Kano State.


The incident was confirmed by the State Fire Service in a statement issued by Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer, on Tuesday in Kano.

Abdullahi stated that at 12:06 p.m., Ghali Muhammad reported to the fire department that there was a fire outbreak at the ATM locations.


“Upon receiving the information, we dispatched personnel and firefighting vehicles to the scene of the incident at 12:11 p.m. to extinguish the fire so that it would not spread to other ATMs,” he explained.

Abdullahi added that three ATMs were completely destroyed by the fire, while the remaining three were only slightly damaged.



He attributed the incident to an electrical spark generated by the ATMs.
