Gov Abdulrazaq emerges new NGF chairman
Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman of the state of Kwara has been elected chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.This is stated in a press release issued by his Chief Press Secretary Rafiu Ajakaye to journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday morning.
According to the statement, the prestigious position was bestowed upon him by his peers.

The governor, among others, vowed to uphold the ideals and vision of the NGF as the most credible, authoritative, influential, and effective inter-party platform for consensus building, peaceful resolution, and advancement of pan-Nigerian objectives, interests, and aspirations.
The statement reads, “I would like to thank Allah, may He be exalted, for the historic occasion in which my brother governors bestowed upon me the chairmanship of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).”
It continued, “The significance and enormous responsibilities of this office do not escape me.”

“I hereby pledge to uphold the ideals and vision of the NGF, while recognizing and appreciating the institution’s illustrious track record as a credible, authoritative, influential, and effective inter-party platform for consensus building, peaceful resolution, and the advancement of pan-Nigerian goals, interests, and aspirations.
“I will ensure regular consultation with all members in order to reach consensus on all matters pertaining to the advancement and promotion of national interest, peace, progress, and national stability.”
“We will continue our tradition of maintaining close and cordial relations with His Excellency the President, the National Assembly, all Federal and State institutions, the business community, the civil society, the media, and development partners.
“Finally, I’d like to thank my colleagues for their trust in me as the new chairman of NGF.”The statement reads
