Feb 25 polls: Peter Obi officially petitions Presidential Election Tribunal

 

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has formally filed a petition challenging the process that led to the outcome of the February 28, 2023 presidential election.

After announcing Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as the election’s victor, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him to be the incoming president.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the chief spokesperson for the Obi-Datti presidential campaign of the Labour Party, sent a brief message to Ejes Gist News Nigeria on Tuesday morning announcing the submission of the petition.

He wrote, “It is official that Peter OBI, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has filed his petition with the presidential elections tribunal in Abuja. The process of reclaiming the mandate of the people has begun.”
