Lagos Police Arrest 53-year-old Woman With Election Materials in Lagos

 

A 53-year-old woman was arrested in possession of election materials.

 

The unnamed woman was arrested at a business centre in the Baruwa, Iyana Ipaja neighbourhood of Lagos, where she was making photocopies and laminating suspected Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, materials.

The woman, whose name was not provided, was arrested on Candos Road in the Baruwa area on Thursday at approximately 4:00 p.m. The spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said in a statement.

 

He added that the woman was apprehended inside a business centre where she was photocopying 550 distinct INEC documents.

 

 

The police spokesperson stated that the suspect is unable to explain how she obtained the electoral materials or why she was producing them.

“The laptop she used to print the materials has been recovered, and she was unable to explain how she came to be in possession of them.

 

“The investigation has been transferred to State CID Yaba,” he explained.
