3) Inspector Sunday Akagu told a Lagos State High Court sitting in Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, on Thursday how Assistant Superintendent of Police Drambi Vandi, the suspected killer of a Lagos-based lawyer, Omobolanle Raheem, asked him for a bullet on Christmas Day after shooting the woman. The Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, has filed one count of murder against Vandi. He is currently on trial. On January 16, 2023, he was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to the charge.

4) Justice O. A. Oresanya of a Lagos State High Court has awarded N5 million in damages against singer Ikuforijimi Abdulrahman, aka Oxlade, for leaking an explicit sex tape with a woman on Snapchat. On February 9, 2022, a sex tape of the singer went viral online, and he later apologized to his fans. On Tuesday, January 2023, while delivering judgment, the judge described the singer’s actions of secretly recording explicit sex and leaking the tape online as “despicable, horrifying, distasteful, and classless.”

5) The FCT Emergency Management Agency has confirmed that the Gwarinpa building collapse has claimed another victim. The incident occurred on Thursday morning on 4th Avenue in close proximity to H-Medix in a popular Abuja estate. Unknown number of workers were trapped within the three-story building with a basement.

6) Thursday, a Kano State Sharia Court dissolved the marriage between Asiya Ganduje and Inuwa Uba. Asiya is the daughter of Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State.
