2) NLC declares nationwide strike over subsidy removal

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has declared a nationwide strike beginning on Wednesday as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy-related price increases at the pump. Briefing journalists at the end of NLC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Friday, Comrade Joe Ajaero, the NLC president, said the union had agreed on a nationwide strike.

Local administration Chairmen in Plateau State have declared that the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang has no power to suspend them from office. 10) Rivers State Police kills 4 alleged Cultists

On Friday, members of the Rivers State Police Command killed four alleged cultists terrorising Rundele and neighbouring communities in the Emuoha Local Government Area. Friday at a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the state police commissioner, Polycarp Emeka, alleged that the suspects were responsible for the murder of four people, including two vigilantes.
