1) Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, the first democratically elected female Deputy Governor in Nigeria, has raised the alarm that her life is in danger due to the election of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President-Elect. She stated that she is preparing to leave the country, as she previously promised she would if Tinubu wins the election.

According to a family member, he was hospitalised for months before passing away in India on Tuesday evening.


6) The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has filed a petition challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to declare Abba Kabir Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) as the winner of the March 18 election.



7) The Diaspora Medical Associations, an umbrella organisation of Nigerian medical doctors and dentists practising abroad, has petitioned the National Assembly regarding a bill that would require medical and dental graduates to perform five years of mandatory service in Nigeria before being granted a full licence to practise.


8) Following the death of Ahize Okoli, a 500-Level student in the Civil Engineering Department at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Osun State, the police have arrested two alleged Awo Hall Executives. Okoli was reportedly beaten to death by a mob on suspicion of stealing a mobile.


9) On Tuesday, a 14-year-old student from a secondary school in Sagamu, Sagamu Local Government Area, Ogun State, was reportedly killed and an undetermined number of people were swept away in a flood caused by heavy rain.



10) Yesterday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Primary Election Committee announced Governor Douye Diri as the party’s candidate for the Bayelsa State governorship election on November 11, 2023.
